TOWN COUNCIL MINUTES
November 27TH, 2024
PHILIPSBURG TOWN HALL AT 5:00 PM
Council in attendance: Jason White, Scott Lyons, John Laigaie, Mayor Daniel Reddish, Carl Sundstrom, Gary Fujinami. Others in attendance: Clerk Rachel Parret, Deputy Bryce Parret, Chris Cooney, Mary Ludemann, Jackie Butler, Kathy Fitzpatrick, Nancy Ludemann, Luke Ulatowski.
CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Mayor Reddish called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.
PLEDGE OF ALLIEGENCE: Mayor Reddish led the Pledge of Allegiance.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Public comment on matters within the Town Council’s Jurisdiction. Public comment will be limited to 3 minutes.
Jackie Butler inquired about the ad submitted to the Philipsburg Mail pertaining to the 3rd Study Commissioner. Mayor Reddish stated that an ad was submitted to the Philipsburg Mail and will run for two weeks. The ad states that the Council is seeking a 3rd Study Commissioner and interested individuals need to submit a written letter of interest to the Town Hall. Jackie Butler stated she had submitted a letter of interest to the Town Hall and was wondering if she had to resubmit due to the ad in the newspaper. Mayor Reddish stated that the Town Hall has her letter on file, and she does not need to resubmit her letter of interest.
Mayor Reddish invited Chris Conney and Marty Ludemann to introduce themselves to the Council and public.
Chris Cooney stated that he was one of the elected officials for the Study Commission.
Marty Ludemann stated that he was one of the elected officials for the Study Commission.
VOTING ON EX OFFICIO:
Councilman Lyons made a motion to make Jason White the Ex Officio of the Study Commission, Councilman Fujinami seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Fujinami stated Councilman White had done a great job running the previous Council meeting.
SWEARING IN OF EX OFFICIO:
Clerk Rachel Parret swore in Councilman White for the Ex Officio of the Study Commission.
SWEARING IN OF ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE STUDY COMMISSION:
Clerk Rachel Parret swore in Chris Cooney for the Study Commission.
Clerk Rachel Parret swore in Marty Ludemann for the Study Commission.
Councilman Sundstrom asked about possibly having training done in Philipsburg and splitting the cost with Granite County. Clerk Rachel Parret stated that she has sent an email but hasn’t heard anything pertaining to the Study Commission training.
Jackie Butler congratulated the elected member of the Study Commission.
-Ad submitted to the Philipsburg Mail for 3rd Study Commission Member.
Mayor Reddish stated that the letters of intent for the Study Commission position are due by December 16th, 2024. The Council will review the letters and vote on the 3rd member.
ADOURNMENT:
Councilman Lyons made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Councilman Fujinami seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
