GRANITE COUNTY RESIDENTS AND VISITORS NEED TO BE AWARE THAT EAGLE AMBULANCE, A PRIVATE SERVICE, WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) IN GRANITE COUNTY EFFECTIVE, JULY 17TH, 2023.

THANKFULLY, DRUMMOND VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE STILL HAS 5 PEOPLE ON THEIR CREW AND WILL TRY TO COVER THE CALLS FOR SERVICE. POWELL COUNTY AMBULANCE HAS ALSO AGREED TO ALSO ASSIST WITH CALLS, PRIMARILY ON THE NORTH END (DRUMMOND) AREA. LOWER ROCK CREEK IS CURRENTLY COVERED BY CLINTON QUICK RESPONSE UNIT (QRU) AND MISSOULA EMERGENCY SERVICES. GEORGETOWN LAKE AREA HAS A QRU THAT DOES NOT TRANSPORT. EFFORTS ARE MOVING AHEAD TO GET A PHILIPSBURG VOLUNTEER CREW PUT TOGETHER. HOWEVER, THERE ARE TIMES AMBULANCE SERVICES MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE.

IF A 911 CALL IS PLACED AND EMS STAFFING IS NOT AVAILABLE, THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE WILL SEND STAFF MEMBERS TO ASSIST WITH THE EMERGENCY TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY WITH THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE.

THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON FINDING SOLUTIONS TO THIS SITUATION. ANYONE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING IN EMS, OR IDEAS FOR SOLUTIONS TO THIS PROBLEM, ARE ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Email commissioner@co.granite.mt.us
